Sign the petition to oppose further cuts to vital support for disabled people

Sign the petition and clog up Iain Duncan Smith’s email inbox! Okay, so he knows that he is destroying disabled people’s lives, but dropping a reminder of that into his inbox every second is still worthwhile. Heap it on his poisonous arse.

From Disabled People Against Cuts:

“As disabled people, we’ve spent the last five years enduring attack after attack – we’ve fought back in any way we can. But fear and anxiety are now part of everyday life. Over the past five years, we’ve seen our support and whatever security and peace of mind we once had being slowly and methodically being stripped from us. Through a combination of ‘reform’ and the notion of austerity we have been hit by cuts and have borne the brunt of the Coalition’s ideological determination to reduce the welfare state.

“It’s time all political parties came clean on further cuts to disabled peoples support, instead of false promises and lies.

Please, oppose any further cuts to vital support for disabled people and those with chronic health conditions by signing with us.”

    • Yes that would be my thought. Sadly, society seems to be here to look after bankers, the financial sector and rampant landlords. I never vote for those things but I always seem to get them.

  1. Totally agree with above 2 comments. I? have worked since I left school at 16 and am now 58, was diagnosed with Parkinsons few years ago and had to stop working 2 years ago and am now terrified for my future even more so because my husband dares to work but doesn’t earn enough for us to survive if I were to lose my ESA and DLA we would lose our home and everything we have both worked so hard for.

  2. Disabled people deserve every right to care and assistance and support should not be withdrawn under any circumstances

  3. The Tories and their collaborators the LIibdems knew exactly what would happen to disabled people when they started making these cuts, back in 2010.
They knew it would mean deaths and suicides, and it has done. Their ‘moral crusade’ to effectively destroy all or most of the welfare state, was never going to happen without much pain and suffering.
But they accept this, as the collateral damage, the inevitable price of their so-called reforms. They don’t care about the personal cost, or the numbers affected, they knew this already.

  4. I have re-written my comments. Basically Mr iain duncan-smith, you and the likes of your companions, i.e. mcVey, cameron et al; the way you disregard people’s lives and feelings, DISGUST ME. Heaven help your kids.

  5. step down from your position of privilege, and listen to vulnerable people. Not everyone on benefits is a scrounger, especially children in this rich country of ours who are going to bed hungry.

  6. As a tory voter, both IDS and McVey are a disgrace to humanity. These alone will lose the election. They have targeted the wrong people when there are, still, scrounging low life still beating the system!!

  7. This needs to stop as people are dying on a daily basis!! The only difference between Hitler and Ian Duncan Smith is he had concentration camps!!

  8. Maybe you should come and live our life then decide. We are living in poverty but your ok in your nice big home etc…..you have no idea of the real world….even working class people are struggling too!!!!

  9. Petitions will not work on their own.

Protest vote in Chingford and Wood Green and vote Iain Duncan Smith out of being MP.

    Vote Class War
Liza McKenzie – Fellow Professor London School of Economics

Although a micro party, the only way to get Labour into power ever again, is inside a group of parties to reach the minimum threshold of 326 MPs.

Otherwise the Tories are obliged to sit in power in a caretaker government in the severe hung parliament that all the election polls indicate.

The non-voters had a landslide victory in 2010, as in most voting areas the non-voters were by far outnumbered those that voted.

WHO ARE THE TRUE PROTEST VOTE

  10. 25 years service as a Nurse for NHS now disabled and treated like the lowest form of life ! Thanks

  11. too ill to write much, i’m house bound. I’d rather be well, stop persecuting us, we suffer enough. Find treatment and cures, we have loved ones who need us alive.

  12. As a full time carer for my husband, and now also having to look after my parents who are both in palliative care, I find the monies they are given for extra help, care and transportation to medical appointments, eats up the majority of what they get. Parking at our local hospital is no longer free, it is also quite expensive, if they are kept waiting for hours beyond their appointment times, which does happen often. Accessing public transport or taxies is not an option, because of the fragility of their bodies, any knocks could break my mothers bones. Could set of a heat attack for my dad. Affect my husbands lung condition due to other people wearing perfume, or taxies having air freshners. They deserve the right to live what is left of their lives in dignity. After all the taxes they paid all their working lives, and their national insurance, helped to keep this country running, so why now should it fail them?

    • Marion i feel your stress, i hope you are getting support for you!! You are looking after three people, who you love dearly. Our government should be reaching out to you and your family, who have worked hard in this country. Sadly you have to fight at this stressful time. We wonder why we work so hard, when the shit hits the fan, the struggle is immense!

  13. Please, oppose any further cuts to vital support for disabled people and those with chronic health conditions

  14. Lets hope he is out of a job in May, but he will probably be replaced by the same kind of evil parasite.

  15. IDS should face the full force of ICC & the UN regarding his stance against the disabled & unemployed & terminally & his totally unfair Bedroom Tax ? and his side kick Ester Mc Yey . should charged with crimes against the people

  16. Stop attacking disabled people. You are disgusting, private companies being paid to reduce payments to people in real need of help and support. Get the money back from companies avoiding tax payments.

  17. Any cuts to funding of equality for disabled people run counter to the UN Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It is little wonder that the Tories plan to abolish the Human Rights Act, leading to their presumed absolution for all the damage they do to people’s lives.

While Kilburn Unemployed is non-party political, I write in an individual capacity when I say that though I realise that their cuts will be worse than Labour”s, even with 1st past the post electoral system I plan to vote ‘no cuts’ and pro-equality Green Party.

My Green Party vote will be unequivocally anti-cuts and pro-inclusion, rather than pro ‘cuts lite’. And it was Labour that first appointed investment banker David Freud as welfare reform guru! Who funds these political parties, and what do they plan to gain at our expense from their investment?
