My latest podcast episode is a wee rant on the reasons why people upload their personal, medical and financial information into AI…
…. that is people who are desperate for answers and help with serious housing and money problems.
Three reasons people do this:
1) Councils and the DWP – the organisations that are meant to help people in need with housing and money – simply do not help.
They turn homeless people away and deny people benefit money. So, you might as well ask chatgpt. You’ll get more information, even if it is slop
2) People have given up hope that their private data will be kept secure. Security concerns around AI taking your data are a luxury.
Fact is that councils and the DWP lose people’s personal, medical and financial information all the time. God knows where it goes. Probably swilling around in some Google AI learning dataset.
3) AI is polite and even enthusiastic to and about you.
Chatgpt and Google AI etc might steal your info, tell you that you can get a council house when you absolutely can’t and sell your data on to sociopathic private companies, but they are really friendly to you while they’re at it.
Makes a refreshing change from being treated like shite by your council and jobcentre.
You’re right in what you say both about official lines of inquiry being hopelessly biased and futile, and about AI. I recently tested AI by asking if it is possible to hum the theme tunes to Man From Uncle and Dangerman tv shows. Absolutely possible was the answer, despite both theme tunes being Jazz influenced ditties that no one could possibly hum.
AI lives in its own happy place… Pity it’s created and run by asshats really. In itself, it is Pollyanna on speed.
Mind you, having said all that the AI designed “super vaccine” in today’s news shows promise, it can cure all strains of Covid and Ebola, if it actually works…
There are definitely fields in which it has a place… I remember seeing a doco about AI being used in promising work for people with serious spinal injuries. It’s the mind control/people replacement/plagiarism bit that does my head in
Since you can no longer get a Job Vacancy advertised at the Job Centre, what’s the point of keeping the Job Centres going !!! If they closed down all the Job Centres it would be a Saving of £500M a year because the staff don’t do any work anyway.
If one chooses to keep the Job Centres open it is best to resort back to what it used to be with bullet proof Glass to protect customers from the staff getting angry throwing their at the bullet glass. Then there would be a £500M saving a year because there is now no need G4S.

Stepping, I’ve been saying that for years. What is the point of Jobcentres? Especially in these days of UC and online Journals . Jobcentres haven’t had any actual job vacancies for years and now they don’t even have to ask to see your jobsearch evidence, it’s all there online for them to see. And as you so rightly say, they cost a fortune to keep open.

DWP secretly exposes 150,000 PIP claimants to new assessment system that is ‘recipe for disaster’

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is secretly testing sweeping new rules – described as a “recipe for disaster” – on disability benefit assessments, which will reduce the influence of healthcare professionals and hand greater responsibility to civil servants.
The new rules for personal independence payment (PIP) assessments have been introduced through a pilot project that is part of the department’s secret Transform Decision Making programme.
The programme does not appear to have been mentioned publicly, either online or in parliament.
Transform Decision Making aims to dramatically alter the PIP assessment process – and potentially also the work capability assessment (WCA) – by clawing back responsibilities from healthcare experts such as nurses, paramedics and physiotherapists and handing them to DWP civil servants, who are unlikely to have any clinical experience or qualifications.

The proposed alterations/reforms of the Work Capability Assessment are on hold pending the findings of the Timms report, apparently.

It’s called War On The Disabled. What has class war got to do with it !! It is also a myth that all these millions of people are on the sick, they say that because if they didn’t there would be 8 million unemployed well higher than the Thatcher years. Universal Credit is designed to create zero unemployment or have they forgotten what Universal Credit does with not cutting cost of the Welfare State.

Farage vows to ban foreign nationals from social housing
“Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has said his party would ban foreign nationals from living in social housing, with tenants required to find private accommodation within three months or face possible deportation.
The party confirmed the ban would apply retrospectively, regardless of how long someone has been living in the UK, under Reform’s policy of abolishing Indefinite Leave to Remain.
